It is an all-wooden octagonal pavilion located within a geological park, featuring a distinctive architectural style and historical significance. The construction of the octagonal pavilions in geological parks can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, during which the octagonal pavilion in the Deshou Palace served as a residence for the Tang emperors. These pavilions were built to host imperial banquets and provide panoramic views.

The Octagonal Pavilion Zhuangyuan Tower is situated at the center of the mountaintop within the Tea Culture Garden of Qinfeng Village in Shihuipu Town, Yingde City. Surrounded by the breathtaking Yingzhou Island tea plantation, which spans tens of thousands of acres, and the 350-million-year-old geological park with fossilized remains of ancient sea life, the pavilion embodies the elegance and solemnity of Tang Dynasty architecture. The internal and external design showcases China's intangible cultural heritage, featuring exquisite wooden structures, intricately carved couplets, and paintings that reflect the artistic achievements and palace culture of the time. Inside, visitors can admire the refined wooden framework and intricate ancient decorations, which highlight the craftsmanship and architectural ingenuity of ancient times.

The three-story pavilion stands at 13.8 meters tall, 7 meters wide, and weighs 20 tons. The geological park's stone gate, adorned with intricately carved stone pillars, harmonizes seamlessly with the architectural style of the Octagonal Pavilion Zhuangyuan Tower and the antique aesthetic of the large tea kettle. Its traditional design showcases the distinct aesthetic appeal of Tang Dynasty architecture.

The main structure of the Octagonal Pavilion Zhuangyuan Tower is an octagonal wooden pavilion, with each corner adorned with intricately carved flying eaves that exude a sense of dignity and elegance. Inside, the walls feature finely crafted wooden columns and intricate woodwork that exemplify the exceptional skills of modern craftsmen carrying on traditional techniques. The pavilion's roof is covered in glazed green tiles, giving it a grand and magnificent appearance.

The Octagonal Pavilion Zhuangyuan Tower is also a sacred site of faith for the people of Yingde, serving as a temple for blessings, academic success, family happiness, safety, and prosperity. Every year on the 15th day of the first lunar month, locals hold a grand sacrificial ceremony in front of the pavilion, praying for good weather, peace, and stability. On this day, participants wear traditional attire, carry various sacrificial offerings, burn incense, and pray aloud, creating a solemn and awe-inspiring scene.

In addition to religious activities, the pavilion serves as a popular spot for leisure and recreation. In the early mornings, locals gather with annual park passes to exercise, play the guqin, practice tai chi, and enjoy the fresh air and serene surroundings. In summer, people relax under the pavilion, sipping tea and chatting. During holidays, the Octagonal Pavilion Zhuangyuan Tower becomes a must-visit destination for tourists.

Built using techniques from Fuzhou, Jiangxi—known as the hometown of Chinese talents—the pavilion continues to play a vital role in preserving historical culture and attracting visitors to Yingde, the world-renowned home of black tea. Efforts are being made to enhance its management and protection, ensuring the pavilion's architectural style remains timeless and continues to convey the depth of history and brilliance of culture. The Octagonal Pavilion Zhuangyuan Tower aims to become a cultural landmark of Yingde, showcasing the region's unique architectural and cultural heritage to the world and fostering appreciation for this ancient and storied land.
